Greta Qu
President and Teacher
Greta is a high school junior from Canada. She has qualified for USAJMO twice and attended MOP in 2024. She loves interacting with the math community; she hopes to share her passion for math and inspire other girls to enjoy the subject as well. Outside of math, Greta enjoys chess and listening to music.
Greta will be teaching Combo Heuristics this Fall! She also taught Combo Heuristics during the 2024-2025 school year!

Catherine Xu
Community Director and Teacher
Catherine is a high school senior at West High School in Iowa City, IA. She began doing math competitions seriously in 2020, beginning with her junior high’s math team. She attended
MOP in 2024 and placed 6th and 5th at Math Prize for Girls in 2022 and 2023. Outside of math, Catherine can be found listening to music and taking walks outside!
Catherine will be teaching Fun + Heights this Fall! She also taught Fun + Heights during the 2024-2025 school year!
As Community Director, Catherine will manage Athemath community events to help students and staff connect outside of class settings!
Catherine was also an Athemath student in 2021 and 2022!
Rachel Chen
Contests Director and TA
Rachel is a senior residing in California but originally from Canada. She's qualified for USAJMO,
CMO, and APMO and the Canada IMO Training Camp. Outside of olympiad math, she enjoys studying higher
math: she attended Canada/USA Mathcamp in 2023 and is a participant in the PRIMES-USA program. You
can often find her studying higher math, especially algebraic combinatorics. She also enjoys chess,
having participated in numerous international tournaments. Outside of math and chess, she enjoys
reading (her favorite author is Ishiguro), writing, Taylor Swift, and talking on discord.
As Contests Director, Rachel will coordinate Athemath team participation at various contests, including
HMMT, PUMaC, CMIMC, and CMM.
Tayakorn (Patrick) Suwanich
Math Director and TA
Patrick from Thailand, also known as Celestia in some communities, is a current MIT student in the Class of 2029. He went to MOP 2023 as an international student (black group), and also got a gold in IMO 2023 scoring at 35/42. He is a combi main first and foremost, but geo appeals to him as well. He does rhythm games but is not that good at them (rn it’s just arcaea), and he also enjoys being an MO trainer for some of his friends during his free time. Outside maths, he also aspires to be a researcher in computational neuroscience someday. He is so so excited to meet with all of you!!!
As Math Director, Patrick will ensure quality of the math curriculum and class materials.
Vera Puah
International Outreach Director and TA
Vera is in her fifth year at NUS High School (equivalent to high school junior) in Singapore, and has qualified for the SIMO National Team and won a gold medal at the CGMO in 2025. She hopes to make olympiad problems more accessible to girls and spark their curiosity in mathematics. She also enjoys physics olympiads and tournaments, as well as ballet and music.
As International Outreach Director, Vera will help spread the word about Athemath to communities around the globe!
Ali Cy
Founder and Advisor
Ali is a senior at MIT. She was an Honorable Mention for the 2020 USAJMO, and was on the 2020 USA European Girls' Math Olympiad team, at which she got a silver medal. She started doing math contests seriously in seventh grade. While participating in math contests, she saw the way in which girls were isolated in math and how that helped lead to the under-representation of girls at contests. She founded Athemath in 2020 in order to help math girls connect to each other. Nowadays, Ali enjoys programming and reading webcomics.
Vivian Loh
Advisor
Vivian (v4913) is a current Caltech student in the Class of 2028, originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She loves math, especially geometry, and she attended MOP in 2021-2023 and was part of the U.S. team at the EGMO in 2022 and 2023. Aside from doing cool math problems, she also enjoys listening to EDM, origami, biking, teaching, and interacting with the math community.
Vivian taught Cute Geometry in Fall 2021, Spring 2022, Fall 2022, Spring 2023, Fall 2024, and Spring 2025, and NT Olympiad Fundamentals in Fall 2023 and Spring 2024!
Vivian was the President of Athemath from 2023 to 2024 and Community Director from 2022 to 2023!
Evan Chen
Advisor and Technician
Evan is a math olympiad coach who completed his number theory PhD at MIT. In addition to helping train the United States team, Evan runs his own training program while streaming olympiad math for public entertainment.
As a high school student, Evan was an IMO gold medalist and a winner of the 2014 USA math olympiad, which he took from 12:30am to 5am in Taiwan. He also wrote the popular textbook Euclidean Geometry in Math Olympiads while in high school, which was published in 2016. Outside of math and teaching, Evan's hobbies include Arch Linux, competitive Hanabi and puzzle hunts.
Evan helps maintain the website that you're seeing now. He hopes that it's still working tomorrow.

Amy Cui
Teacher
Amy is a high school senior at Lakeside School in Washington. She has qualified for USAJMO three times and attended MOP in 2023 and 2024. Her love for math began in elementary school, and she is excited to share this passion with other young girls. Outside of math, she enjoys fencing, running, reading, and listening to music.
Amy will be teaching Outstanding Olympiad Geometry this Fall! She also taught Outstanding Olympiad Geometry during the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years!
Ekam Kaur

Ekam is a senior at Stanford Online High School. She has been doing math contests since elementary school and attended MOP in 2023 and 2025. Her favorite math subject is combinatorics. Outside of math, she likes reading, digital art, and listening to music.
Ekam will be teaching Classy Adventures in Combinatorics and Algebra this Fall! She also taught Classy Adventures in Combinatorics and Algebra during the 2024-2025 school year!
Jiya Dani

Jiya is a high school senior at the Liberal Arts and Science Academy in Austin, TX. They started their journey of learning competition math in the middle of 7th grade, and since then have qualified for USAJMO twice, attended MOP in 2024, and are a participant of the PRIMES-USA math research program. Outside of math, Jiya enjoys playing guitar, learning electronics, and chilling to ambient guitar music or vibing to random pop music.
Jiya will be teaching NT Terrain Navigation this Fall! They also taught NT Terrain Navigation during the 2024-2025 school year!
Lanie Deng

Lanie is a sophomore at Central High School in Springfield, Missouri. She attended MOP in 2025, and her favorite olympiad subject is combinatorics. Outside of math, Lanie enjoys playing card/board games, crocheting, doing puzzles, occasionally playing the piano, and sculpting random things!
Lanie will be teaching AIME Geo this Fall!

Selena is a sophomore at Lexington High School in Massachusetts. She has competed in math competitions since elementary school and attended MOP in 2025. Other than math, she enjoys reading, cryptograms, and sudokus.

Sophia Jin

Sophia is a high school senior at Stuyvesant High School in New York City. She attended MOP in 2024. Her favorite olympiad subject is geometry, and outside of math, Sophia enjoys drawing, singing, listening to music, and hanging out with friends.

Thanaree (Pimmy) Maneepairoj

Pimmy from Thailand is a postgraduate student at the Hotchkiss School in Connecticut. She attended MOP 2023 as an international student and she is in TST camp in her country. Apart of Math, Pimmy likes taking a walk, reading webtoon and she also like a ton of other stuffs too.
Pimmy will be teaching Get to Know Number Theory this Spring! She also taught Get to Know Number Theory during the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years!
Wendy Leong

Wendy is a Y5 (11th grade) student from Raffles Institution, Singapore. She attended MOP 2024 and 2025 as an international student, and is a member of the SIMO National Team 2024, 2025, and 2026. She is fascinated by the creativity and depth behind math problems, and is eager to share this passion with likeminded young girls!
Besides math, she also likes Kakuro, Killer Sudoku, and painting digitally on Procreate.

Akshitaa Arun
TA
Akshitaa Arun (Akshu/Ash) is from Tamil Nadu, India. She has attended various math camps in India such as PROMYS INDIA 2024, RAMTP 2023, AGMNC 2022 & 2023. She's part of the outreach team in the Urban Harmony Project and ParagonX. She co-runs the math philosophy program NC^2. She enjoys tutoring her friends outside school, and showing them that math can be fun! Outside of math, she loves singing, playing the ukulele, playing card games or puzzles (especially killer sudoku), waveboarding and reading!
Arjun Suresh

Arjun is a sophomore at Middleton High School in Wisconsin. He is a two-time AIME qualifier and received honors on USAJMO in 2025. Apart from math, he enjoys listening to music, reading, and writing.
Dóra Sárdinecz

Dóra is a senior high school student from Hungary and a member of the 2025 MEMO team. She attended MOP 2025 and has participated in different math camps and European competitions. Her favorite Olympiad subjects are combinatorics and geometry. Outside of math, Dóra enjoys doing sports like handball, reading, and listening to music.

Heather is a junior at the Harker School in California. She attended MOP in 2025, and her favorite subjects are combinatorics and geometry. Outside of math, she likes to read, play the piano, and listen to music.
Jingni Liao

Jingni, from Australia, is a sophomore at the University of Sydney. He is an Australia MO 2024 Gold Medalist, and has qualified for Australia TSTs in 2023 and 2024. His favourite math genre is combinatorics, but his general math interest lies in uncovering the problem-solving process itself. Outside of math, he enjoys playing chess, squash, photography, journaling and music composition.

Lillian Xu

Lillian is a senior at Shanghai World Foreign Language Academy. She has participated in a number of math competitions like AMC 12 and AIME, qualifying for USAMO, as well as team competitions like BMT. She was also a student in the Ross Mathematics Program in Summer 2024. Other than math, she enjoys playing frisbee and boxing, and is also a huge fan of musicals. She is also the president of the Gender Studies club at her school.
Paras Mani

This is Paras from India! He loves Maths(A=N>>>C>>>>>>G) and football (Madridista) and other sports as well. When he is not doing Maths he tries to explore new places, food, and other stuffs! He is always down to interacting with new people.
Ritwin Narra

Ritwin is a current Stanford student in the Class of 2029. He began doing math competitions in elementary school, and his passion was ignited in high school after being introduced to the online math community. Ritwin attended MOP in 2024 and USACO Camp in 2023. Besides math, he loves playing card games and chatting with people, as well as red pandas and the blobheart emoji (so wholesome :D).
He also runs the Problem of the Day seasons in Athemath and is excited to show cool problems to all of you!
Swastika Deb

Swastika is from Kolkata. She has been doing competition math for 3 years and has taken part in various competitions. Her favorite subjects are geometry and number theory. She is a Sophie fellow and a staff at MOTP. Apart from math, she loves listening to Taylor Swift songs and playing the guitar.
Tarun Rapaka

Tarun is a junior from Houston, Texas. He is a 2025 USAMO Silver Medalist and a MOP attendee.
He is also part of the MIT PRIMES-USA research program and has attended Canada/USA Mathcamp in
2024 and 2025. In his free time, Tarun enjoys solving Olympiad Geometry problems, playing PC
games, and hanging out with friends.
Uddipa Pal

Uddipa, a senior from Kolkata, India, loves Maths (specially combi and NT :)) and Physics. She has excelled in IOQM, RMO, MO (IITB), BMT, the Sir Isaac Newton Exam (UoWaterloo), TOSC (IITK), FSJM, IRO, and other contests. She has attended MTRP (ISI K), Math.Biz (RAM), IISF (Govt. of India), Perimeter Institute, and SAIFR Brazil programs. A trained Odissi dancer who enjoys editing, Uddipa is Vice President of the Math Club at Entwinity. She also loves teaching maths and is passionate about making STEM opportunities more accessible, especially for girls.
